Don’t Take Life for Granted

That statement has rung like a consistent church bell throughout the suburbs. As I’m getting older, those words have never been truer than tawny carpet settled upon a Baptist church floor.  Since I’ve been married, the dawns and dusks have noted “sweet by and by” lines. The days have seemed to lovingly linger and passionately pass at the same time.  So those wise words do hold genuine guidance...don’t take life, time, love, and relationships for granted. Don’t lightly glaze moments with mundane interaction. Interact like a worshipper of God, holding hands to the sky. He will spark vigor in a “so-so” soul. Then a “for granted” spirit will subside.  Let go of perishables that become granted mind debts such as:  Malignant malice  Gnat-like grudges Accusing and acute anger  Bitten bitterness  Take in moments like a sermon seeping into your heart and habituate:  Love that is lucid and lively Reveling and strong relationships  Peaceful and poised time Lustrous

The “Golden Lining”

While taking my run/ walk tonight at the park I noticed the caution tape that still hung eerily on the playscape.  Then, I noticed the sunset setting so gracefully over the once clamoring teeter-totter. The grace from the orange creamsicle sun shone on the harsh “halt!” tape. It softened the mean-spirited words and glistened the boundaries with hope. “The sun will shine on children’s’ faces once again as they laugh and run free,” I thought.  As I rounded the path multiple times, I kept my eyes on the silver-lining sunset.  Hope summons our heart with Jesus’ strength. That strength, then manifests into endurance as you run tainted trial races.  The races we face today loom over slippery slides and unbalanced stairs to the top of pinnacle peace.  Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles. And let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us, - Hebrews 12:1

A Peering Situation

I love blogging about God’s presence in my life. I want to share what He does for me and what He could do for others... Yesterday, my husband and I visited our “soon-to-be-house” once again. We are clinging to the heart of this home more and more as we walk along its trusses and concrete love.  As we made our way through the 2 by 4 lined rooms we came across the guest bath. We peeked at our bathtub and spotted a conniving concern...a hole in the fiberglass.  So, we conspired a plan to email our grievance to the builder. We left our future home and enjoyed the rest of our evening. The delicate dusk included an intimate table at a quaint restaurant called Spahr’s in Downtown Thibodaux.  I told my husband amidst the Cajun cuisine, “I’ve learned to leave every little to big thing to God. I’m learning to pray over everything in life.”  I emailed the builder about the hole in the bathtub this morning. As the email was sending, I asked God to touch my words with a softness.
