Delicate and Hand-Picked Love - Take Walks with your Spouse to Spruce Connection

Since the quarantine quarter has flipped upon “stay at home” heads, my husband and I have been on many “walk-abouts” throughout the Outback of Houma and Thibodaux.  . We’ve walked, trekked, and hiked throughout trails of Godly love. We have bonded under Live Oak glimmer leaves and white-bloom Magnolia trees. We’ve chatted while Mocking birds added to the tea delight conversation. Woodpeckers clanked as souls planked o’er streets of deep heart beats. . If you want to reconnect with your spouse, take an engaging walk. Make sure to leave all distractions behind, especially your phone. Place all pettiness at home, and find your home in your soulmate’s heart-emblem eyes once again. . Want to Spruce up your kinship to the hearts? Put on some comfortable clothes and stable tennis shoes and stabilize the marriage banks. Stroll under Blue Spruces and watch your husband pick a delicate love note.  . The effect of walking reciprocates joyful tendencies.  . Pace yourself...

Tap, Tap, Tap...Faith upon my Lap

This is a memory I’ve never blogged about. I love blogging because, I can write about feelings, love, faith, and somehow, lengthen my dad’s legacy. An imprint was left on my soul that spans the meadows of Cades Cove, which was my dad’s favorite vacation spot. On my heart, he tied a forever memory knot. . His faith also traversed the mountains of the misty Smokies. My dad’s surmountable trust in God bequeathed throughout “heartlands”. . One evening, gentle faithfulness nested in our townhome. My dad was in the end stages of his earthly life and was preparing his soul to go heavenly home. Even though, my dad wasn’t fully coherent due to morphine, he still comprehended God’s love. He still understood ounces of hope. I opened the creased pages of his coffee stained Bible. The word of God was torn and disheveled from years of usage. This was a Bible of a man after God’s own heart. . I opened to Hebrews… . Now faith is confidence in what we hope for and assurance about w...

Life Goes on...Through Death, Droughts, even a Pandemic

I  looked outside my apartment window today and saw two smiling boys riding bikes. One boy was being gently assured by his mom. She was teaching him to ride without training wheels. A sweetness passed by the sliding door window as she held on to his two-wheeler. She guided him like a lighthouse attendant directing a ship ashore. They fiddled through the grass, grinning and almost winning the non-help trophy.   I took in the sweet sugar sight. I thought to myself...life still goes on. Through all the chaos, trials, and even a pandemic, life goes round and round like bicycle wheels.  While a bouncy boy is achieving growing grounds, someone is entering the gates of Heaven. While pedaling under a fun-filled sunshine day, droughts of struggles earth beneath.  While a cheerful heart nestles and Mom says, “Pedal!”, a pandemic surrounds secure apartments. But, a helmeted boy keeps pushing for “let me go, Mom!” take off! His life is filled with content ...

Look for the Blessing Red Birds, Cherry Blossoms, and Orchids of Beauty in Life

March has marched in with a vengeance of change. In the Trojan horse saddlebags hid a shrewd surprise, Coronavirus. The gray clouds of uncertainty pelted us with “riddle me this” rain. The Trojan horse then galloped over valleys of vividness. Alas, the vivid vex was prevalent over states and pastures. The virus staked our soil with transforming turmoil. Ah, but that riddle rain also brought with it growth of cherry blossoms. They grew tall and strong amidst wrestling weeds of “where’s the joy?”   I was covered by those cheerful cherry blossom trees last weekend. My Birthday was March 16th. I must admit, I felt as if one of my unwanted presents was the looming virus. I sensed a thick foreign fog. But, my husband, my Superman, saved my “Birthday”. He pulled me from the dense fog and flew me around our “Metropolis”. We shopped, reminisced, ate cheesecake, and laughed with merriment. It’s as if he set me upon a marriage merry-go-round. Round-and-round we go, on love embellishe...

Jingle All the Way to Coronavirus

Have you ever watched the movie “Jingle all the Way”? It’s actually one of my favorite Christmas movies. Arnold Schwarzenegger and Sinbad go on the hunt for the coveted “Turboman”.  No, not his sidekick “Booster”, but they wanted the golden toy of the year. They even battled and manipulated each other over a plastic trinket. They didn’t need “Turboman” for a life and death situation, but for the sake of “I want”.  Recently, I did a story about retail stores in this area and the lack of unusual items. Toilet paper, paper towel, wipes, etc. When I scoured the stores yesterday, I felt I was playing a part in “Jingle all the Way”. The aura from the shelves gave a sense of “I want”, not “I need”. Toilet paper and paper towel were the “Turnomen”, and Vitamin C and other immune builders were “Health Boosters”. Some vitamins were lacking, but most stood at attention on the shelves.  Society panics in the most eccentric ways. Citizens should scramble for “Boosters”, the...

Tree of a Different Color and Fruit

As Christians, we are called to be different. We are called to act different than the worldly actors. We should act justly and true. We are called to be set apart from the strangling thorny thickets. We are called to bear fruits of the Spirit. We are a tree of a different color. Our colors should represent the light of God.   (Act: Noun- The process of doing.) Recently, I saw a post on Facebook stating, “She’s not acting like a Christian.” Well, my friends, the world should set us at a higher standard. The world should know we are acting and forgoing a Christian lifestyle. I know we all sin and fall short. If you fall seven times, get back up seven times and fight the false flesh! Show the world we are a different fruit tree among the sinful spectrum.  But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. Against such things there is no law. - Galatians 5:22-23 Grow red apples...

We Bought a House Without Overthinking!

Guys, I am over the rainbow, like Rainbow Brite! Yes, I’m 33 years old and I used to watch Rainbow Brite. We have signed a contract on our first house! We are having a house built from the ground up. We officially made the decision on February 24th. We will get to pick brick color, cabinets, countertops, etc. God is good all the time! I know the followers who are reading this blogpost are saying, “All the time God is good.” My soul is filled with blessed rainbows, bumbling butterflies, and God’s joy.  Don’t overthink and you’ll stay afloat on the “choice oceans” with steadiness. Give all your worries, decisions, and expectations to God. He promises us, we will not be cornered. He promises us, we will not sink.  Overthinking can lead to dangerous corners.  You’ll be stuck in crooks and crannies filled with doubt and lack of confidence. The corners will close in on you, causing claustrophobia of the mind. Tight and restricted thinking then causes poor decision...
